Visual defects
Astigmatism
Astigmatism is a visual defect caused by a deformation of the cornea that makes vision blurred in one axis and sharp in the other. The image of an object is therefore formed on two different planes.
Astigmatism may or may not be associated with other visual defects such as myopia or hyperopia.
